She slept until 8:15am, but
when she woke, it was clear that she was still feeling pretty crappy. Su Jin was working today and Sadbh was
happy to see her.
Unfortunately, though, nothing
was much fun since she didn’t feel well and Sadbh cried and clung to mommy for
most of the morning.
She spiked a fever again
around 9am and we gave her some more Tylenol, which kept her feeling
comfortable for most of the morning.
When it came time for trach
care, Sadbh had a great time playing in her bath. She fell asleep quickly, but just before we got her all
setup, she started a big coughing fit and ended up puking up everything she had
eaten that morning. After several
suctions to make sure her airway was clear, it was time for bath #2. She again had a ball the water and
afterwards, she fell into a deep sleep.
Trach care went well and she
slept on until almost 3pm when her fever spiked again. Her temp soared above 103 degrees and
we again gave her more Tylenol to bring it back down. It was 30 min before she was alert again and ready to get
out of Mommy’s arms (at least for a few minutes).
She was very happy when
Daddy arrived home and the evening was spent watching “Wheels on the Bus” and
Skyping with Nana, Grandad, Conor and Josh in New Zealand. Conor very sweetly told Sadbh that he
had said a prayer hoping that she will get better quickly.
There is one song in “Wheels
on the Bus” that Sadbh loves. She
grabbed Katie this evening when it was on and she showed Katie how she could
sing along to it.
When it came time for bed,
Sadbh fell asleep very quickly.
Unfortunately, moments later, her fever spiked again and it was quickly
up above 104 degrees. Katie gave
Sadbh some Ibuprofen and we are watching her very carefully to see that it
comes back down.
Luckily, Larissa is working
again tonight so we know Sadbh will be well taken care of.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
