Sadbh was very unhappy and
uncomfortable throughout the night. Between the loud fireworks and her not so
comfortable pack and play for a bed, Sadbh did not get a good night sleep.
When she finally woke up her
trach sounded quite dry so after a number of suctions we managed to extract
some thick mucus plugs.
Her airway was instantly
cleared and she was able to breath a lot easier.
Sadbh and I headed
downstairs for breakfast and Sadbh kept asking to watch some “wheels on the
bus” videos on You Tube. This kept her entertained while I prepared her
breakfast.
We both had a great morning
and despite the rough night, Sadbh was in a great mood.
She eventually grew tired
and asked to have a bath.
After a nice warm bath,
Sadbh was ready for her bed and was off to sleep in no time.
Trach care went, but Sadbh
only slept for 45 minutes.
As soon as she was awake it
was time to play with Poppy before his flight back to San Francisco and Sadbh
had a lot of fun.
Before we knew it, it was
time to head to the airport. After
we said good-bye to Poppy we headed off to Greenlake for a walk in the
sunshine.
Sadbh started off in the
stroller but wanted to walk after a while. It was a very slow walk since she
wanted to wave and smile at everyone that passed.
She had another good evening
and was very tired when it came time for bed. Just after washing up and
brushing her teeth, Sadbh started asking after Nana and Granddad. Our nightly
ritual is after she’s changed into her pajamas and has washed up, she would go
around kissing everyone good night. Tonight is the first time in who knows how
long that it’s just the three of us in the house and it was obvious that Sadbh
noticed the difference.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
