Since we did not have a
nurse last night, Granddad and Nana took the first shift and watched over Sadbh
until 1am. I took over from 1 to 6 and thankfully Sadbh slept great. She did
wake up around 2 and was very upset. It did not take long before she calmed
down and soon was fast asleep.
Katie took over at 6am and as
I headed upstairs Sadbh started to talk in her sleep. She started saying,
“meow” and both Katie and I had a hard time trying to stifle our laughter.
She finally woke up 45
minutes later and she was in a great mood. For breakfast Sadbh had three bowls
of cereal and still had room for more food.
We meet a potential new
nanny today and Sadbh liked her. She had all the necessary qualifications and
seemed very interested in taking care of Sadbh. We now have three promising
candidates and hope to make a decision in the next few days.
Sadbh was very tired when it
came time for her nap so we had no problems getting her to sleep for trach
care.
We are training my mum on
trach care so she joined in to watch how we do it. Sadbh slept for about 45
minutes after trach care and despite the lack of sleep she had a lot of energy.
She had a great evening and
even got to wear her Passy Muir Valve for quite some time. At one stage she
wore her cap for 15 minutes without any problems. Hopefully we will be able to
get her back on track after setback for the past couple of weeks.
It was a fun evening and she
got to spend most of it playing with Granddad and Nana.
Julie is back working
tonight so we should all be able to get a good nights rest.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
