Sadbh slept well and was up the stairs to hang out
with the rest of us as soon as she could.
We had a nice lie-in and Sadbh was very careful when
cuddling with her little brother.
Poppy came by this morning but since he was worried
that he might be coming down with a cold he chose not to come in so as to make
sure Sadbh stayed healthy. He was heading back to the Bay Area so he wanted to
say goodbye. We were all sad to say goodbye and Sadbh was especially sad that
he could not come in to play for a while. As he was leaving she came running
out and blew he a bunch of kisses.
Granddad and I got trach care out of the way early in
the day and after lunch I brought Sadbh to University Village to pick out a toy
for her next trach change. She was under strict instructions to pick something
that was reasonably priced but she ended up picking a fairly expensive horse
and rider. Nana, being a complete softie, went and got her the horse anyway. I
have a horrible feeling that she has risen the bar quite high for the next
trach change.
Later in the day Sadbh’s friends, Conor and Aibhin
came by for a visit with their parents. Sadbh couldn’t wait for them to arrive
but when they did she wanted to bring a couple of her big cars up and got very
upset when we said no. Eventually we gave in and soon Sadbh and Conor were
having a great time following each other around the house. I might have been
easier to have give in to begin with.
The kids had so much fun together and by the time her
friends left, Sadbh was completely exhausted.
Lately it seems that Sadbh is getting very tired and
we are thinking it might be a result of us capping her trach. As she exerts
herself she has to work harder to breathe and as a result she is tiring out a
lot easier.
She wore her trach cap to bed tonight and slept for
the first hour with it on. We
think she could have tolerated it for longer but we felt it would be best to
give her a break so she could have a nice restful sleep.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie, Sadbh and Cillian.
