Sadbh had a good night sleep and was up trying to
wake her brother up as soon as the nurse left. I brought her down for breakfast
along with Cillian so Katie could get a sleep in.
I was expecting some resistance from Sadbh but she
was very happy to hang out with Cillian and me for the next hour or so.
It had rained a lot over the weekend and Snoqualmie
Falls was flowing like crazy. We decided to take the whole family for a trip to
check it out and after cramming everyone into the car we headed off.
Grandad kept Sadbh entertained with stories of bears
and sharks for the quick journey out to the waterfall.
It seemed that a lot of other people had the same
idea as us for visiting the waterfall, as it was very crowded.
Sadbh was well wrapped up but she did get slightly
wet due to the mist coming up from the water. It was spectacular and we all
enjoyed it immensely.
We stopped by our friend, Hailey, on the way home to
say hello and Sadbh got to show off her little brother.
She was excited to hear that Hailey’s daughter,
Aoife, is also a huge fan of horses and ponies and they chatted about having a
play date in the near future.
Sadbh had a sore tummy on the drive home and fell
asleep just as we were pulling off the interstate. She napped for twenty or so
minutes and was sad when she realized that Nana and Granddad were not with us
when she woke up. We dropped them off for mass along the way.
Katie and I got trach care under way as soon as
Cillian was fed and as soon as Sadbh was cheered up. Unfortunately, Cillian got
fussy just after we started so I had to hold him in one arm while cleaning
Sadbh’s neck with my free hand. It worked and we were done in no time.
Bedtime took forever and by the time Sadbh finally
fell asleep moments before Jirapa arrived. By then we were all knackered.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie, Sadbh and Cillian.
