It was another very long night for Katie, Cillian and
myself. Sadbh, thankfully, slept like a log and she woke up at quarter past
seven. As soon as she was unhooked she was off upstairs and straight over to
see her brother. Cillian was fast asleep so Sadbh had to wait to cuddle him
until he woke up.
Harjinder told us that Sadbh woke up during the night
and asked if she still had her trach cap on. Harjinder explained that it was
removed after an hour in which Sadbh asked why. Sadbh then explained that she
needed to sleep with it on all night to make Nana happy.
Sadbh had a good morning and around noon her friend
Aidan and his parents came by for a visit. After introducing everyone to her
little brother Sadbh and Aidan had a great time hanging out with each other and
they got stuck into the toys in the basement.
Sadbh was sad to see them leave.
All morning Sadbh was eager for us to manage her
monthly trach change. She really wanted the new horse and rider that Nana and
Granddad bought her yesterday.
After lunch it was time for a bath and then trach
care. Granddad helped out by holding her new toy up high so she could look at
it while Katie and I managed trach care and her trach change. She was a super
star and allowed us to get it done without any stress or fussing.
Later in the day Clodagh, Cormac and their parents
came by for a visit. Sadbh and the two kids had a lot of fun and Derek and
Suzie got to dote over Cillian.
The three kids had a fun evening and it was big hugs
all around when it came time to leave. Sadbh was so enthusiastic when hugging
Cormac that she almost knocked the poor kid over.
When the Crean’s left Sadbh discovered that Clodagh
had decorated her room with her new toys. It was really well set up and Sadbh
was extremely impressed and delighted.
By evening Sadbh was getting tired and difficult to
deal with. It had been a long day and it was starting to take its toll on her.
Thankfully by bedtime she realized that she needed to be nicer to everyone and
she was very apologetic.
Despite being completely knackered, it took almost an
hour to get her to sleep.
All
the best,
Wayne, Katie, Sadbh and Cillian.
