Sadbh slept like a log last
night and did not wake until just as Larissa was leaving the house. Katie
unhooked her equipment and picked her out of her crib. As soon as she saw Larissa she immediately
blew kisses to her and made the baby sign for thank you. Not a bad way to end your week’s work.
Sadbh and Katie snuggled upstairs
in our room for awhile until Sadbh determined that it was time to go downstairs
for breakfast. Nini was already
awake and Sadbh ate toast, bananas and cheese.
Nadia worked today and not long
after she arrived it was time for trach care.
Sadbh had a two-hour nap
afterwards and once she woke up she was in a great mood and ready for lunch.
Nini had an appointment in the
afternoon so Nadia and Sadbh got to spend the rest of the afternoon together
and after lunch they headed off up to the park in Madrona.
Sadbh wore her Passy Muir Valve
and it seems that every day that she wears it she is louder than the day
before.
Nadia realized that when Sadbh
struggled with the PMV that a drink of water usually helps her. Thanks to
Nadia, Sadbh actually wore her PMV most of the day today and was in her element
making sounds.
While Nadia was walking Sadbh
home from the park today she heard gunshots a few blocks away and thankfully
she realized what was going on and headed home as quickly as possible.
Thankfully Nadia had her wits about her and that neither she or Sadbh were in
any immediate danger.
Sadbh was in a fantastic mood
all evening and was full of energy. Katie and I had a brilliant time playing
and chasing her around the house.
By the end of the evening I started
tickling her and when I was done she sat down in front of me, laid back on my
lap and did the sign for more. She is such a charmer.
Needless to say she was very
hyper when it came time for bed so Katie had to work hard to get her to sleep.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
