Sadbh slept much better last
night but still had lots of secretions. Larissa was fairly busy suctioning
through the night.
At one stage Sadbh woke up
shortly after 5am and when Larissa went over to check on her she curled up and
pretended to be sleeping.
Once I came down the stairs, it
was game time and Sadbh wanted Katie and to be nursed.
As Katie nursed, Sadbh filled
the room with an eye-watering aroma, only to be followed by the mother of all
nappy blowouts. It leaked right through everything and even through to Katie’s pants.
Once Sadbh was all cleaned up
and in fresh clothes, it was time for the fun and games to start.
Katie had her laptop open and
Sadbh was thrilled to see photos of Nini that she had posted in Facebook during
her trip to NY.
The nurse that was scheduled to
work today had called in sick and fortunately Audrey was available to fill in.
Sadbh was delighted as soon as Audrey walked in the door and both of them
immediately started to play and dance.
She had a very busy morning
between blowing bubbles, flying around the house in the laundry basket,
bouncing on her inflatable horse named Rody.
Later on Ali-Baba stopped by to
help with trach care, but beforehand she got to read a few books to Sadbh.
Trach care was very
straightforward and Sadbh slept for two and a half hours afterwards.
Once she woke up it was time
for lunch and then a walk through the neighborhood. Sadbh wore her Passy Muir
Valve and made a lot of sounds.
The fun and games continued once
they arrived home and Sadbh had a great time in the back garden playing with
her kitchen.
I arrived home and caught Sadbh
dancing like crazy. She was smiling from ear to ear and it was quite the sight
to behold.
Despite not having a second
nap, Sadbh was in a great mood for the rest of the evening.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
