Sadbh woke up shortly after we got
to bed last night and since she was fussy, she joined us in bed for the rest of
the night.
Around 6am, I was rudely awoken
by a number of kicks in the back.
Sadbh was hogging most of the
bed, with Katie on the edge on her side and me on the edge on mine, Sadbh was
sleeping across the bed and she was kicking like crazy.
She eventually woke up and it
was time to start the day.
I brought Sadbh for a walk
through the neighborhood after breakfast and she loved it. I left her stroller
at home and carried all her equipment, which turned out to be not such a good
decision.
Sadbh did not want to walk for
long and ended up being carried after a couple of blocks.
The combined weight of Sadbh
and all her equipment, along with the hot sun beating down on us, gave me quite
the workout.
I never thought to weigh her all
her necessary equipment before and it turns out that it weighs 27 pounds or 12
kg’s. Since she weighs 20 pounds, the hike through the Central District tuned
out to be quite the task.
Audrey worked for a few hours
today and arrived shortly after we got home from our walk.
Sadbh was excited to see her
but since she was starting to get tired, it was time for trach care.
Everything went great and Sadbh
slept for an hour and a half afterwards.
Once she woke up, it was time
for lunch and then off up to Madrona to watch the Blue Angels
She got very excited when they
buzzed overhead, and thankfully Audrey brought Sadbh’s ear protection along.
Sadbh had a fun evening and got
to spend it playing with Dylan. Dylan showed Sadbh how to prepare some food in
the outside kitchen and Sadbh was very impressed with his skills.
By the end of the night, both
kids were up way past their bedtime and despite this they still so much energy and
were having such a great time together.
I’m sure they will both sleep well tonight.
All the best,
Wayne, Katie and Sadbh.
